YOKOHAMA MARATHON 2025 Event Guide

Purpose To contribute to interest in sports and the promotion of health, aiming for an event in which all people who participate, watch and support can enjoy the event, while also having an economic ripple effect and promoting business in the city.

Competition RulesRules of the YOKOHAMA MARATHON and the Japan Association of Athletics Federations shall apply.
Events※The entry category for overseas residents is limited to the full marathon only.  

Full Marathon (42.195 km)Pair Relay [1st runner (approx. 20.4km), 2nd runner (approx. 21.8km)] 
Participants must have been born on or before April 1, 2007, and capable of completing the entire race (including both runners in the pair relay) within six hours. 

Bayshore Highway Run (Approx. 21.8 km)
Participants must have been born on or after April 1, 2007, and capable of completing the approximately 22 km course within three hours. 

Minatomirai 7 km Run (approx. 7 km)
Participants must have been born on or before April 1, 2010, and capable of completing the approximately 7 km course within 60 minutes. 

️Fun Run(approx. 2.7 km)

Wheelchair (Wheelchair/accompanied (assistance) possible)
Participants must have been born on or before April 1, 2019, and capable of completing the approximately 2.7 km course by wheelchair. (There are no specific wheelchair requirements, provided they are not racing wheelchairs.)
Family
Each pair must include one elementary school child and an adult aged 18 and older. Both members must be capable of completing the approximately 2.7 km course within 45 minutes.
Fun Run (Junior High School Students) 
Participants must be junior high school students capable of completing the approximately 2.7 km course within 45 minutes.

〈About the environmental preservation cooperation fee〉 

A portion of the participation fee will be allocated to the environment preservation cooperation fee, which the YOKOHAMA MARATHON will use to support environmental protection efforts. We sincerely appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Gateway points will be established at certain points along the course, and athletes that have not passed by these gates by the closure time shall be disqualified. 

Awards

Placings will be awarded according to net time, as outlined below. 

Full Marathon 

Men: 1st to 8th place 

Women: 1st to 8th place 

Minatomirai 7 km Run 

Men: 1st to 8th place 

Women: 1st to 8th place 

*No awards will be given for the Pair Relay, Bayshore Highway Run, or Fun Run(Wheelchair/Family/Junior High School Students). 

Records

For the Full Marathon, Pair Relay, Bayshore Highway Run, and Minato Mirai 7km Run, times will be measured using timing tags. 

*Times will not be measured for Fun Runs (Wheelchairs, Families, Junior High School Students).
