Notes on Entry

Entries to the “Priority Female Runners Entry” and “Local Resident Priority Entry” categories are automatically entered into the “General Entry” category lottery if unsuccessful in their category lotteries.

The payment method for participation fees (“over-the-counter payment” or “credit card payment”) is chosen after the selection.

The payment of entry fees after selection can be paid through My Page online. Please be sure to retain your Lawson WEB Membership until the payment process is completed. The organizer does not accept any responsibility if you are unable to complete the procedure due to withdrawing your membership.

Notes for Entries(Please read)

  1. Entries can only be made once per person per event type. Please note that in the following cases, your entry will be invalidated.
    • Multiple entries in the same event by the same persons
      eg Entry as both an individual and in a pair or group, entry in multiple pairs or groups, entry in both the Yokohama City Resident and Kanagawa Prefecture Resident categories, entry in both the local priority (Yokohama/Kanagawa Resident) and general categories, entry in both the priority female runners and local priority (Yokohama/Kanagawa Resident) categories, entry in both the priority female runners and general categories
    • Entries in multiple events by the same persons
      eg Entry in both the full marathon and 1/7 marathon, entry in both the 1/7 marathon (wheelchair) and the 2 km (wheelchair)
  2. Please enter by PC, smartphone or tablet. Entry is not possible with Feature Phones (flip phones).
  3. When entering online, only one entry will be accepted per email address. You cannot enter multiple times with the same email address.
  4. Please select your entry fee payment method after you have been successful. You can select credit card payment or over-the-counter payment for the payment of entry fees after you have been successful.
  5. Entries should pay entry fees by the payment deadline. The entry will be invalidated if payment is not confirmed by the payment deadline. Please see the following regarding the handling of entry fee receipts etc.

    • Over-the-counter Payment
      Receipts will not be issued. Your store receipt shall serve as your payment receipt.

  6. No inquiries or requests will be entered into regarding the state of entries or lottery results. Please check the results of the lottery on your “My Page” after the announcement date. (Unsuccessful entries will also be notified by email. If you have designated email domains or email recipients set, please set your email to receive from the domains “L-tike.com” and “ent.lawson.co.jp”.)
  7. All required items must be completed in entries prior to the entry deadline.
  8. The organizer shall not take any responsibility for delays in entries due to problems with internet connections etc.
  9. The results of the lottery will be notified to all entries by email, on their “My Page” or by postcard. Please note that we will not confirm whether notification has arrived at your registered email address or address.
  10. Registration content cannot be changed, amended or cancelled for personal circumstances after the announcement of successful entries.
  11. Falsification of age, gender or other records etc. shall not be accepted. False declarations will be disqualified. Persons anxious about reporting their gender should consult with the Yokohama Marathon Organizing Committee Secretariat.
  12. The transfer entry rights to another competitor (unauthorized competitor) is not permitted. If such acts are discovered, they will result in disqualification. In this case, the organizer shall bear no responsibility to provide compensation or a refund.

Notes for Entries in Pairs and Groups(Please read)

  1. When entering as a pair or group in the Local Resident Priority category, it is a condition that “all target members are residents of Kanagawa prefecture (also applies for Yokohama city residents)”.
    Ex . Yokohama city residents mixed with Kanagawa prefecture residents outside of Yokohama city, all members residents of Yokohama city, all members residents of Kanagawa prefecture but not of Yokohama city
  2. When entering as a pair or group in the Priority Female Runners category, it is a condition that “all target members are female”.
  3. When entering as a pair or group (2-5 people), a representative should apply online.
  4. The representative should fill in all information for all members, without omission.
  5. When entering as a pair or group, all target members will either be successful or unsuccessful entries. In addition, notification to successful and unsuccessful entries will only be sent to the representative.
  6. Participation guides (number card certificate) will be sent to each target member. Runner reception must also be carried out by each target member.
  7. Members in the same pair or group will start in the same block (from the block with the reported slowest time among the members).

Convenience Store Entry Procedure

  1. Go to a Lawson or Ministop convenience store
  2. Enter using the Loppi machine in the store
    Top Screen ⇒ Services Menu ⇒ Sports and Concerts ⇒ Member Services Reception ⇒ Member Services ⇒ Marathons ⇒ Select Yokohama Marathon Participant Event
  3. Follow the instructions on the screen (*entry questions)
  4. Take the entry ticket printed out of the Loppi machine to the cash register to pay the entry fee.
  5. Entry is complete

Personal Information

The organizer recognizes the importance of personal information and shall handle personal information in accordance with the organizer’s privacy policy and in strict compliance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information and relevant laws and regulations. This information may be used to improve service to participants, such as the provision of participation guides, notification of records, notification of relevant information, information on the next event, and services by sponsors and cooperating and related organizations, and for the announcement of records (rankings etc.). You may be asked to confirm the details of your entry by the organizer or a contractor. Video, photos, articles, records etc. (including personal information such as name, age, gender, record, portrait etc.) may be reported, posted or used in newspapers, on television, in magazines, online or in pamphlets etc. In addition, the organizer shall retain the right to post or use this content.

Terms and Conditions of Entry

Entries shall confirm and agree to the following terms and conditions of entry.

  1. Changes, amendments and cancellation cannot be made due to personal circumstances to registered details after the announcement of successful entries. Also, excess payment or duplicate payments shall not be refunded.
  2. The organizer may suspend the event or the run during the event if it determines that there is a problem with the running of the event. In addition, entries shall respond without objection to instructions given by the organizer for safety or event management.
  3. The organizer does not accept any responsibility for lateness due to public transportation or road circumstances on the day of the event.
  4. The organizer shall not accept any responsibility except the provision of first aid in the case of disease, injury or other accidents.
  5. Please enter the event at your own risk with relation to accident, loss or injury and illness during the running of the event.
  6. Compensation for accidents or injuries suffered during the event shall be limited to the scope of the insurance entered into by the organizer.
  7. Please obtain the consent of family, relatives and parents (where the participant is a minor) and of other members of pair and group entries before entering.
  8. Falsification of age, gender or other records etc. shall not be accepted. False declarations will be disqualified. Persons anxious about reporting their gender should consult with the Yokohama Marathon Organizing Committee Secretariat.
  9. Entries will be divided into blocks in order of best times, in order for a smooth start to the event. The best time should be from the period from January 1, 2017 to the time of entry. If you have no record from this period, please report your expected time.
  10. Participation by persons other than the entrant (unauthorized participant) and short cuts on the course (cheating) shall not be accepted. If discovered, participation and any awards will be cancelled. Also, the organizer shall accept no responsibility for compensation or refunds in the case of false declarations or unauthorized participants.
  11. Video, photos, articles, records etc. (including personal information such as name, age, gender, record, portrait etc.) may be reported, posted or used in newspapers, on television, in magazines, online or in pamphlets etc. In addition, the organizer shall retain the right to post or use this content.
  12. Please refrain from running in costumes, or in masks, cloaks etc. which obstruct the movement and visibility of limbs. In addition, annoying or being unpleasant to other runners or supporters is prohibited.
  13. In addition to the preceding items, the event shall be held in accordance with the rules determined separately by the organizer.
  14. The handling of the personal information of entries shall be in accordance with the organizer’s terms described separately.
  15. When the event is reduced or cancelled for reasons not attributable to the organizer (earthquake, storm and flood damage, snowfall, incidents or accidents, plagues etc.), there shall be no refund of entry fees or other fees.
